Dengue has increased unusually in some areas outside Dhaka this time, which has surpassed the previous record.

Public health expert Mushtaq Hossain said that at a time when dengue outbreaks began in the country, it has never spread so much outside Dhaka before. In fact, no effort was made to prevent it from spreading outside. This will put a large number of people living outside Dhaka in danger. Because they are not yet ready to deal with this disease.

As of yesterday, Saturday, the number of dengue patients in the country was 14,460. Of these, 3,138 were infected in Dhaka metropolis. And the number of patients outside Dhaka was 11,322. A large-scale outbreak of dengue has occurred in the country since 2000. But there have never been so many patients outside Dhaka like this time, at least at this time. So far, dengue has spread to the remaining 60 districts, excluding Gopalganj, Chuadanga, Joypurhat and Sunamganj.

Dengue had spread to 55 districts in the country by July 12 last year. The remaining were Chuadanga, Bogra, Gaibandha, Thakurgaon, Panchagarh, Patuakhali, Jhalokati, Sunamganj and Moulvibazar. And at that time, the total number of infected people was 4,336. Of these, 2,752 were outside Dhaka and 1,584 were in Dhaka metropolis. More than 63 percent of the total infected people were outside Dhaka.
